The Restoration Stone is for occasional use to restore the original cutting angle. It leaves a medium finish.
Messermeister designed this two-sided combination waterstone to be an economical solution for infrequent grinding. The 400 grit side corrects minor errors and the 1000 grit side is excellent for both finishing and maintenance.
This is a great stone to have in the kitchen for those who only sharpen a few times a year.
