The turbulent 1960s brought about a lot in world history, including a very contemporary design that is still highly appreciated. Although this knife has a wooden handle, it can still be considered durable. Robert Herder knives are of such quality that they provide years of cutting pleasure together with a great classic design. The thin grinding method makes it easy to sharpen the knife yourself, so you are always assured of good, sharp tools.

Properties Carbon steel

Carbon steel means that the steel has a high carbon content, which has the advantage that the knife is harder than stainless steel and remains sharp for longer. These knives are delivered from the factory oiled so that they are protected against rust. When using this knife, rust will initially form, which can be removed with a rust eraser or other fine abrasive. After use, wash the knives by hand with a non-aggressive cleaning agent, dry and apply a maintenance oil. For example Ballistol.

Over time, a dark patina will form on the blade and the knife will not rust further.

For proper maintenance we recommend using the “Robert Herder Maintenance Set for Carbon Knives”.
