This is a cutting board you would find at a butcher's. That's no coincidence. Henk is the son of a butcher. As a child, he stood behind the chopping block with his grandfather separating the bones from large pieces of meat. “Sometimes he would chop up a nice piece of steak and we would eat it right there with some salt and pepper.

DOTTED LINE

The iconic dotted line with "cut here" on the cutting board comes from prison. France continued to execute criminals by guillotine until 1940. "Prisoners have this dotted line tattooed on their necks as a reminder to the executioner."

TREAT HER RIGHT

It's important to treat your cutting board with the love it deserves. Wash it by hand with a mild soap and rinse and dry immediately. Treat it with some mineral oil every one to two months. And don't you dare put it in the dishwasher...
